In the legendary “No. 1 Vault”, the old stone vault on the edge of Loch Indaal, the magical character of Islay and centuries-old traditions come together to create a single malt whisky with complex balance, mild Islay smokiness, maritime minerality and an abundance of fresh stone fruit aromas.
This Bowmore whisky was matured for 21 years in a combination of American oak casks previously containing bourbon and European oak casks filled with Oloroso sherry. Finally, it was given a fine finish in first-fill European oak casks that previously held Pedro Ximenez sherry. This unique combination of casks gives the whisky exceptional depth and complexity, characterized by intense sherry notes, a soft sweetness and a harmonious balance between fruity and spicy aromas.
