Description

In 1975, Gerard Bertrand began his grape harvest at Chateau de Villemajou in the Corbieres and discovered his passion for wine there. For twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand, until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After his father’s tragic death in 1987, Gerard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gerard Bertrand wine company. The Gerard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wineries and 16 chateaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Part of the grapes are harvested by hand and matured in 225-litre Bordeaux barrels, while the rest is stored in stainless steel tanks.

Gerard Bertrand Art de Vivre Languedoc Vin Rouge is a tribute to Mediterranean culture and nature, a masterful cuvée of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. The grapes are harvested by hand, with a late harvest taking place between the end of September and mid-October. This ensures fully ripe and concentrated grapes that develop optimal aromas and an intense color. After destemming, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks for 15 to 20 days. Part of the wine is then stored in barriques for eight months, giving it additional depth and complexity.
