Description
The Antica Torino brand was founded in 2016 by Vittorio Zoppi and Filippo Antonelli with the aim of rediscovering traditional Piedmontese recipes and reviving the art of flavored wines, liqueurs and spirits. The focus is on authentic taste experiences that are closely interwoven with the history and culture of the region.
Vermouth di Torino Rosso is the result of intensive research and numerous tastings, inspired by the oldest vermouth recipes of the House of Savoy. The development of this unique vermouth took many months until the perfect balance of flavors was found.
Its character is based on a carefully selected range of natural botanicals that have always been used to flavour Piedmontese wines. These include wormwood, rhubarb, gentian, grapefruit peel, vanilla pods, rosemary and red thyme. A total of thirteen botanicals are used in the recipe, which is kept secret in the best Piedmontese tradition.
The production process begins with a 30-day maceration of the botanicals in 96% alcohol, followed by pressing to extract the color. The vermouth is then mixed with wine, alcohol and burnt beet sugar and matures for 45-60 days in steel tanks. After the final 30-45 days of bottle refinement, its unmistakable flavor profile unfolds.
