Description
In the mid-1990s, Tibor Szemes, F. X. Pichler and Manfred Tement joined forces to launch an extraordinary project. Inspired by top French wines and driven by their shared passion for red wine, they had the vision of creating an outstanding Austrian red wine that combined their expertise and the best sites in Burgenland. Their goal was to produce a premium red wine of international class and to make “red wine made in Austria” known worldwide. In 1998, after two years of maturation, they presented the first Arachon T.FX.T of the 1996 vintage – a milestone for Austrian red wines.
Arachon T.FX.T from Burgenland is a refined cuvee composed of 80% Blaufraenkisch, 10% Zweigelt, 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines thrive on soils of mica schist, loam and loess, which give the wine its characteristic depth and complexity. After the harvest, the wine matures for 18 to 20 months in new 500-liter barrels, developing a remarkable structure and aromatic richness. It is then bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
