Description
Since 1895, Bommerlunder Aquavit has been produced from caraway seeds and other herbs and spices according to a recipe from the Bommerlund Kro inn on the German-Danish border.
Since 2000, it has been produced in Schleswig-Holstein and distilled in Lower Saxony.
After distillation, it matures for 6 months in oak barrels. The Aquavit (lat. aqua vitae – water of life), is produced similar to gin, but the basis for this is caraway and dill.
