Description
Bruichladdich Islay Barley 8 Years Old is a fascinating single malt whisky made from 100% barley from the island of Islay. The barley varieties used, Concerto and Propino, grow in the fields of renowned farms such as Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Cruach, Dunlossit, Craigens and Sunderland Farms. This whisky is produced without peat, which sets it apart from many other Islay whiskies.
The Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2014 was distilled and matured for eight years in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks (80%) and a mixture of second-fill sherry butts (5%) and second-fill wine casks (15%). This special maturation gives the whisky its unique complexity and depth.
With an alcohol content of 50%, the taste of the Islay Barley barley is perfectly accentuated and develops a balanced profile with fruity and malty notes.
