The 2021 Dolcetto d’Alba is quite understated in this vintage. As always, the use of stems in the Dolcetto lends floral and savory brightness that is quite attractive and distinctive. Medium in body and gracious, the 2021 is an absolute delight. In 2021, the style favors energy and tension over richness. The Dolcetto was done entirely in tank.

From vines in both Verduno and Roddi, the 2021 Dolcetto D’Alba is a youthful yet transparent purple, with fresh black raspberry, violet, and crushed rock. Medium-bodied and well-structured, with plum, turned earth, and fresh acidity, I love this for fresh drinking over the next few years.
