Montevina Winery has grown and vinified world-class Barbera in the Sierra Foothills of Amador County since 1974 and is widely acknowledged as among California’s elite producers of this classic Piedmontese varietal. We outdid ourselves with this one! Amador County’s hillside vines, warm days, cool nights, and well drained decomposed granite soils create ideal conditions for the production of superlative Barbera. Here at Montevina, we farm our Barbera nearly entirely organically and focus on managing crop levels which results in extra concentrated flavors.
