Description
The Casa D’Aristi XTA Xtabentun Liquer is an internationally popular liqueur which is refined with honey and rum. Xtabentun was already produced by the Mayas and means “climbing plant growing on the rock” or “morning glow”. The intoxicating feeling of Rivea corymbosa or Turbina corymbosaas, as the scientific name of the Xtabentun flower is, is caused by the psychotropic substances in the seed, which can lead to euphoria and drowsiness. This liqueur is an excellent aperitif and its aniseed flavour is a great contrast to the well-seasoned Yucatan cuisine. This is why Xtabentun is still so hotly loved in Mexico.
The Casa D’Aristi distillery on the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico produces this liqueur with the highest quality standards. The company was founded in 1935 by the Aristi family and specializes in the production of artisan spirits that maintain the traditions of the Mayan culture. All products of Casa D’Aristi are made from 100% natural and regional quality products. The production process is mainly done by hand in a historic hacienda.
