Description
Domaene Wachau, located in Austria’s most renowned wine-growing region, the Wachau, is one of the country’s leading white wine producers. Steep terraced vineyards, a cool marginal climate and barren primary rock soils characterize the wines of the Wachau. This sparkling wine is made from traditional Austrian grape varieties and is the perfect choice for uncomplicated enjoyment.
An extremely mild and dry winter was followed by a cool spring, which provided the soil with plenty of moisture, which benefited the vines during the often hot summer days. Despite several hailstorms, the year was largely positive right into the fall. The high temperatures in September were offset by cool October nights, which led to a balanced ripening of the grapes.
Carefully selected grapes grown in various vineyards on the plain are used for Frizzante Fresco. The aim is to produce a characteristic Frizzante that reflects the special climate and the barren soils of this region. The grape varieties include 60% Rivaner, 30% Riesling and small proportions of Gruener Veltliner and Muscat.
