The Highland Park distillery was founded by Magnus Eunson in 1798. Today The Edrington Group is the owner of the distillery.

It is the northernmost whisky distillery in Scotland and is located in Kirkwall on the Orkney Island mainland.

The distillery buildings of Highland Park are listed in the Scottish Heritage Lists and produce around 2.5 million litres of whisky annually.

Highland Park Thorfinn is one of 6 whiskies that belong to the Warriors Edition series from Highland Park.

This Highland Park got its name from the most powerful man who controlled the whole Orkney Islands at his time.

In the Orkney Saga he is depicted as a chief. His remains are buried in the St. Magnus Cathedral on Orkney.
