After years of training in Europe and California, Hillinger purchased 12 hectares of vineyards, laying the foundations for his successful winery in Jois, which opened in 2004. The company expanded to include several wine stores and bars throughout Austria and a long-standing business relationship with the Constantia Glen winery in South Africa. Hillinger Pinot Noir Terroir is a single-varietal Pinot Noir that impresses with its complex and elegant aromas. The grapes for this wine are cultivated according to organic guidelines. Vinification involves maceration in steel tanks, where the grapes remain on the skins for 5 to 6 weeks before the wine is matured in large 3,000-liter wooden barrels. After ageing, the wine is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
With a maturation potential of at least 10 years or more, Hillinger Pinot Noir Terroir displays an exceptional structure and balance, making it an ideal companion for special occasions and fine cuisine.
