Description
The Markus IRO winery is located in Gols, a traditional wine-growing region, and cultivates around 20 hectares of first-class vineyards. Around 30% of the vines are used for white wines, while 70% are used for red wines. The quality of IRO wines is favored by Pannonian and continental influences, which bring high humidity and low rainfall. The soils of the vineyards consist of a mixture of limestone, gravel, clay and sand, which gives the wines their special minerality.
IRO Special Blend is a cuvee of St. Laurent, Pinot Noir and Merlot grapes that thrive on gravel and black earth soils. The fully ripe grapes are carefully harvested by hand before undergoing a maceration period of 14 to 18 days. The wine then matures in two-thirds full barriques to develop its complex aromas. Finally, the wine is bottled and sealed with a screw cap.
