Description
The Paul Kerschbaum winery is one of the leading wineries in Austria. It is located in the Blaufraenkisch region of Horitschon in Burgenland. The term “Blaufraenkischland” refers to a wine-growing region in central Burgenland, where the Blaufraenkisch grape variety is mainly cultivated. Paul Kerschbaum’s aim is to produce powerful, long-lasting wines with a woody touch. In 2011, Paul Kerschbaum placed the production of the wines in the hands of his son Michael.
Paul Kerschbaum Cuvee consists of a balanced blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot. After a 28-day maceration period, the wine matures for 24 months in new wooden barrels to refine its aromas and structure. This is followed by a further 12 months of bottle ageing at the winery. After this careful maturation, the wine is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
