The Kerschbaum Zweigelt 2022 comes from the renowned Kerschbaum winery in Horitschon – one of the best red wine addresses in Austria’s central Burgenland region. For decades, the family winery has stood for uncompromising quality, consistent expression of origin and, above all, wines with ageing potential and structure. In the region known as Blaufraenkischland, Zweigelt also shows all its finesse when – as here – it is vinified with great sensitivity and sensitivity to the terroir.

The Zweigelt grapes were fermented very gently on the skins for 14 days in order to carefully extract the color, fruit and tannin structure. The wine was then matured in barriques and large barrels that had been used several times, which gives the wine complexity without overpowering the fruit. With an alcohol content of 13.5% vol., the wine is elegant and balanced. Already easy to drink now, it also has a structure that gives it good length and ageing potential – a modern Zweigelt with a classic soul.
