Description
Intense brown colour with brick-coloured hues. Rich and concentrated bouquet, laden with dried fruit aromas and a refined note of spice. In the mouth, it is smooth and velvety. It is harmoniously structured and closed.A long and delicate finish.Served chilled, it reveals all its finesse and sophistication, especially when drunk with desserts made with caramel, dried fruit and spice, such as caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly, tarte tatin, crème brulée and medium-strength cheeses. Best served at a temperature between 12 and 14°C.

Juicy and focused, with jasmine, white tea, roasted peach and date aromas and flavors allied to a viscous yet fresh texture, ending with a subtle hint of praline. Lovely. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca. Drink now. 100 cases imported.

The 2000 Colheita Tawny Port is a roughly equal blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca coming in with 116 grams of residual sugar. This release was bottled in July 2020 with a bar-top cork. There is a reason to pay the extra money and trade up from the 2001-although a small reason. The 2001 is a little gentler and more precise. This might be a little more complex and fuller bodied-a little. What I often see as the difference between the two vintages is depth-the 2000s were a bit fatter in vintage style, which often shows in the Colheitas as well. Here, that comes through too, but modestly. They are both lovely. I’d take this if I had to choose, but it’s worth noting that the 2001 is a very nice buy.

This wood-aged tawny is still fresh, boasting fruit as well as old-wood maturity. It has ripeness shot through with intense acidity. With its richness and balance between raisin and red fruits, the Port is perfectly ready to drink.
