Description
Beautiful red/purple color with aromas of black cherries, fruits, dark chocolate and baker’s spice. On the palate, the wine shows dense dark berry and plum flavors along with hints of sandalwood and spice, and even a hint of violets in the finish. Don’t be concerned if you find yourself inhaling deeply from your glass, over and over-it is just your nose’s way of telling you that it wants its fair share! This is a full-bodied and well-structured wine that is incredibly full of life and born to be enjoyed with food and friends. Goes great with many foods, specially meat, barbecue.

The 2022 Malbec La Posta Pizzella comes from Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley and was 50% aged in oak barrels, a fifth new and the rest used, while the other 50% went into stainless steel tanks. Purple in the glass. The nose presents violet and fresh plums with subtle herbal aromas. The 2022 is indulgent and juicy, with somewhat chalky tannins contributing to a taut, mouthwatering mouthfeel. This is quintessential Altamira.

Fresh and inviting, with notes of grated nutmeg and dried rose petal joining a juicy core of pomegranate and plum on a suave frame. Finishes silky, echoing back to the floral-and-spice-filled opening. Drink now. 20,000 cases made, 10,000 cases imported.

The wine’s aromatic nose delivers raspberry and dried herbs. A ripe palate offers intense berry flavors followed by leafy notes. Good acidity and medium tannins support this full-bodied and enjoyable Malbec.
