Description
The Leitner Souvignier gris & Muscaris PIWI Duett 2023 is an expressive, organically produced white wine from Austria that ideally combines modern winemaking and sustainability. This cuvee consists of 75% Souvignier gris and 25% Muscaris – two PIWI grape varieties (fungus-resistant vines) that stand for environmentally friendly, future-oriented cultivation. The reduced need for plant protection of these varieties makes viticulture more resource-friendly and sustainable – in line with modern, responsible enjoyment.
The wine is matured classically in stainless steel tanks in order to bring out the varietal aromas clearly and unadulterated. The result is a wine that can be drunk now, but also has a fine ageing potential of up to two years. The combination of freshness, structure and aromatic depth makes it versatile – whether for everyday drinking, with light dishes or as a stylish companion for festive occasions.
With an alcohol content of 13% vol., its clear fruit and a practical screw cap, PIWI Duett presents itself as a modern, easy-drinking organic white wine with a future. It impressively demonstrates that sustainability and quality are not a contradiction in terms, but complement each other perfectly in the glass.
Awards:
– Winner of the “Styrian Wine Trophy – Bad Gleichenberg” in the category “PIWI’s white 2024 and older”
