Description
At the northern end of Loch Lomond near Tarbet, the first site of the Loch Lomond Distillery was established in 1814. The current distillery was founded in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery a few miles from Glasgow.
The responsibility at the distillery lies with Master Blender Michael Henry. Michael grew up next to two distilleries and thus developed a passion for distilling and brewing whisky at an early age. He has been the Master Blender at Loch Lomond Distillery since 2014.
Loch Lomond Distillery’s Remarkable Stills Series includes some of the oldest and rarest spirits ever developed by the distillery.
Loch Lomond 46 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the second bottling in the Remarkable Stills Series. The whiskey is aged for 44 years in American oak casks. It then receives its finish for two years in a combination of first-fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
