Description
Charming aromas feature bing cherries, ground coffee and polished mahogany notes. The structure is imposing yet open, with a fine balance of acidity, fine tannins, and depth of fruit. The finish is long and elegantly focused with lingering fine spice notes.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village (Maison Louis Jadot) has turned out very nicely, delivering aromas of sweet red berries, orange zest, spices and peony, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and seamless palate that’s pure, flavorful and charming. As usual, this is mostly vinified in-house.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has an intense red berry and tertiary-scented bouquet that lacks the precision I found on the over-performing 2021 last year. The palate is medium-bodied, a bit foursquare, with decent depth and fruit concentration, but the finish lacks a bit of pizzazz. There’s a scintilla of greenness, too, suggesting some blocked ripeness in some of the lots?
