Description
“More yellow in the colour and with a reduction on the nose. Pale primrose. Some liquorice notes, I wouldn’t want this to be any riper, everything is so concentrated here. Plenty happening! Give it a year or three to calm down and then there should be some lovely wine.” Jasper Morris 91

An elegant red marked by refined aromas and flavors of cherry, strawberry and spices. Showing accents of earth and flowers, this remains balanced, firm and defined through the long finish. Best from 2025 through 2037. 200 cases made, 100 cases imported.

Hints of petrol and lemongrass are present on the ripe aromas of white peach, pear and equally discreet wood influence. There is bit better verve and precision to the rounded and fleshy middle weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the very dry finale. This is sufficiently firm to repay mid-term cellaring but also sufficiently forward to be approachable young.

Round and expressive, the 2019 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Clos de la Croix de Pierre Blanc (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) delivers aromas of buttered orchard fruit, ripe citrus, vanilla pod, white flowers and mint. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it’s one of the most immediate, giving wines in the range.

The 2020 Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre ler Cru has a mixture of red and blueberry fruit on the nose, light violet touches and a touch of Indian ink. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, quite linear, balanced if just a tad conservative towards the finish. Fine.
