Description
Fluffernutter was brewed in collaboration with Wiley Roots in Greeley, Colorado. This pastry stout was brewed with 2-row, Caramalt, Pale Chocolate, Carafa 3, and Chocolate Rye malts, and flaked oats. Peanut butter and marshmallow flavors are added to create a roasty and subtly sweet stout with a nice peanut butter aroma.
“Loveland Aleworks have gained a reputation for brewing flavorful sour ales. But they also brew some great stouts, and this beer is a perfect example of that! It pours a very dark brown color with a small, foamy, ruby hued brown head. On the nose you get peanut flour and peanut butter up front, followed by marshmallow, milk chocolate, and hints of dark malts. The body sits at a medium-heavy weight with a medium-light carbonation level and a smooth mouth feel. Light peanut flour and milk chocolate flavors hit your tongue up front, followed by lightly bitter, dark malts on the mid-palate with a slightly dry character. Peanut flour and milk chocolate resurface on the finish, although bolder here, and linger just a bit on the finish.” Review by Dan Chacon
