Description
The Antinori family has been involved in wine production for over 600 years, starting with the admission of Giovanni di Piero Antinori into the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. This tradition, which spans 26 generations, has always been directly managed by the family, characterized by innovative choices while maintaining constant respect for tradition and origin.
Each vintage and each innovation is seen as an opportunity to improve quality. Marquis Piero Antinori underlines that the family’s historical roots are an important part of their philosophy, but have never been an obstacle to innovation.
Villa Rosso, first created in 1928 by Niccolo Antinori and later renamed Villa Antinori by Piero Antinori, is an important red wine in the Antinori tradition. This wine combines grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah. The wine is aged for 12 months in French, Hungarian and American oak barrels, followed by eight months of storage after bottling. The wine grows on sandy and calcareous soil and is sealed with a natural cork.
