Description
The Mateus Castle near Vila Real north of the Douro Valley in northern Portugal gave the name to Mateus Rose. This is a sweet rose wine that has become one of the most famous branded wines in the world.
The vinification follows the traditional method for white wines and the fermentation is slow and without skins in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 16ºC.
After cold stabilization, the wine is filtered and bottled. The entire process is carried out with the utmost care to always ensure the unique style, colour and freshness of Mateus.
