Description
Organoleptic characteristics bright garnet red colour, with warmer reflections with the passage of time. Unmistakable aroma, very pleasant, intense and ethereal, very persistent, sometimes spicy, with hints of truffle, licorice, withered flowers. Dry taste, with important and full tannins.

The 2019 Barolo opens to a lean appearance with a very vibrant Nebbiolo color that shines with dark ruby highlights. There is dried cherry and candied fruit aromas on the bouquet. Those fruit layers cede to light spice, lilac and campfire ash. The beauty in this wine is the extreme balance achieved in this classic vintage. It delivers on all levels: intensity, length and joy. The fruit represents a blend of four MGS sites: Bricco Chiesa and Capalot in La Morra, Fiasco in Castiglione Falletto and Monvigliero in Verduno. Production is an ample 32,000 bottles.

A firmly structured red, this offers cherry, raspberry, eucalyptus and iron flavors. There’s an underpinning of dense tannins, yet overall this is medium-bodied and linear, with a compact finish. Best from 2027 through 2045. 7,000 cases made.

The 2020 Barolo is a pretty powerful wine in this peer group. Accordingly, it is going to need a few years to come into its own. Macerated cherry, licorice, lavender, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco emerge gradually, but only with great reluctance. Hints of rose petal, mint, and cinnamon linger.
