Creating Grande Tripel, we let our base Tripel take center stage, enhancing it with freshly roasted coffee and Madagascar vanilla bean caviar. The result is a gorgeous and harmonious Belgian-style Tripel with subtle coffee aromas and a palate rich in roasted coffee and vanilla. The coffee and vanilla notes are intentionally subtle. The end result is pillowy soft and will leave you curious for more.
“Ommegang has done a great job here with mixing tradition and innovation by adding coffee and vanilla to this Belgian style tripel. It pours a cloudy, burnt orange color with a large, dense and foamy, off-white head. On the nose you get aromas of semi-sweet coffee, pear, light vanilla, and strangely, hints of caramel. The body and carbonation both sit at a medium level, and it has a slightly dry finish for the style. Grainy malt flavors hit your palate first, followed by lightly sweet, yet bitter, coffee notes. The Belgian yeast comes through mid-palate, along with notes of pear, while the vanilla comes in on the finish with more bitter coffee.” Review by Dan Chacon
