Description
The Penfolds winery is one of the oldest wineries in Australia. It is located in the south of Australia and comprises the Barossa Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale growing regions.
This cuvee is made from the grape varieties Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro from the Barossa Valley. Maturation takes place over a period of 12 months, with 66% in French oak barrels and 34% in American oak barrels.
The growing season was accompanied by above average rainfall, which meant that the vines started this phase with a healthy moisture profile. The moderate temperatures encouraged the growth of the vines and accelerated flowering. These optimal conditions led to a harvest of fully ripe grapes, indicating a vintage of high quality.
The wine offers a storage potential of at least 6 years and is sealed with a natural cork to preserve its freshness and quality.
