The Penfolds winery is one of the oldest wineries in Australia. It is located in the south of Australia and includes the growing regions Barossa Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale.

Bin 2 first appeared on the market in 1960 and was originally a typical soft and medium-bodied Australian Burgundy. Today, the wine is a blend of the Shiraz and Mataro grapes, which come from the Barossa Valley area.
