Description
The Portia winery, located in the renowned Ribera del Duero wine region in Spain and covering an area of 160 hectares, extends over growing areas such as Roa, Gumiel de Izan, Villanueva and Gumiel del Mercado. In addition to the quality of its wines, the winery is also known for its exceptional architecture, as the building designed by Foster + Partners is a true architectural eye-catcher that harmoniously combines modern architecture with the tradition of viticulture.
The Tempranillo grapes come from vineyards located in the “Golden Triangle” region within the D.O. Ribera del Duero, specifically from the municipalities of Gumiel de Mercado and Gumiel de Izan, which are located near the winery. These vineyards, which extend at an altitude of over 800 meters, are characterized by predominantly sandy soils, which gives the grapes special characteristics and contributes to the unique quality of the wines from this region.
