The Rey Campero Mezcal comes from the renowned Sanchez y Asociados distillery in Oaxaca de Juarez, the capital of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, a region that is known worldwide for its mezcal tradition. This special mezcal is made exclusively from the agave variety Cuishe, which is prized for its unique aroma and the intensive growing conditions in the region.
To produce this high-quality distillate, the Cuishe agave is first harvested and then carefully processed. The agave pulp is fermented over a period of twelve days using only natural yeast, which gives the mezcal its complex aromas.
The fermented agave pulp is then double distilled in traditional copper stills to achieve the characteristic, pure flavor profile of Rey Campero Mezcal. This artisanal approach ensures an intense, authentic taste that delights connoisseurs and aficionados.
