Description
Each year this is a blend of crus from all of Pouillon’s holdings and is composed of roughly 65% pinot noir, 20% pinot meunier, and 15% chardonnay. This cuvée has evolved over time and improved in quality to better reflect the evolution of the domaine at large. Today the “Réserve” Brut is fermented with native yeasts predominantly in neutral barrique, with 20% fermented in enameled tank. Elevage continues a minimum of 6-8 months before the wine is is blended with the previous vintage and the “perpetual cuvée” to be refermented in bottle.

The NV Brut Reserve is a bend of 65% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier and 15% Chardonnay from different villages and accounts for up to 50% of the total production. The latest disgorgement (November 2017) is based on the 2015 vintage and includes 40% of reserve wines, which age in foudres. The elegant and precise nose is deep, pure and chalky, and the palate is refined yet intense and pretty complex, especially in the quite long and expressive finish. This has very good concentration and refreshing terroir expression. This is an excellent NV Brut. Tasted April 2018.

Fresh and mouthwatering, this balanced Champagne offers creamy texture and a subtle mesh of salted almond, white cherry, whole grain toast and candied lemon peel flavor. Zesty finish. Disgorged summer 2019. Drink now.

70% pinot noir, 15% pinot meunier and 15% chardonnay; L16108): Light gold. Smoky, floral orchard fruits and redcurrant on the perfumed nose. On the palate, sappy red fruit and bitter pear skin flavors are joined by building hints of buttered toast and rose pastille. Finishes chewy and long, with lingering smokiness and a touch of bitter quinine.
