Description
In 1790, 25-year-old George Sandeman, the son of a wealthy Scottish carpenter, asked his father for a loan of 300 pounds. His goal was to settle in London as a wine merchant. George Sandeman then founded the Sandeman company, which later became one of the world’s leading suppliers of port and sherry.
From the outset, Sandeman specialized in the production and trade of port and sherry. Unlike today, he conducted his business not from his own offices, but from Tom’s Coffee House on Birchin Lane in London. At that time, business was often concluded on the basis of a “gentleman’s word.” George Sandeman quickly gained an excellent reputation, which continues to characterize the Sandeman company to this day.
Sandeman Sherry Armada Superior Cream is a high-quality Oloroso sherry. Careful aging for more than ten years in an old solera gives it its complexity and roundness. A small amount of the rich Pedro Ximenez sherry, made from sun-dried grapes, is added to create a rich and complex combination.
