Description
With the return of Scapa 10 Years Old, 16 Years Old and 21 Years Old, the distillery presents a powerful trio that continues the brand’s long tradition. Distillery Manager Michael (Mick) Swanney, a native Orcadian, played a key role in the creation of a single malt whisky that not only impresses with its direct location by the sea in Scapa Bay, but also with its characteristic taste profile.
Tropical fruits and the fresh sea breeze of the Orkney Islands characterize the taste, which is achieved through the use of pure island spring water and distillation in the unique Lomond Wash still. Maturation takes place in first-fill American oak casks, which rounds off the complex aroma.
The bottle design, inspired by the North Sea and the sheltered Scapa Flow, reflects the tranquillity and permanence of the region, while the new collection marks an important milestone in Scapa’s history.
