Hans Schwarz founded the Schwarz winery on Lake Neusiedl 20 years ago. Originally a trained butcher, he turned his hobby into a profession and turned his passion for wine into a successful wine production business. His dedication and talent quickly earned him recognition in the wine scene, and today the winery is run by Hans and his son Michael. The last vine of the winery is located just 6 meters from the border. This region plays a crucial role in viticulture and Hans Schwarz immediately recognized its potential for high-class red wine varieties, especially Zweigelt. The region’s unique gravel soils are of particular importance as they store the sun’s heat during the day and slowly release it at night. This natural cycle contributes significantly to the quality of the grapes.
Schwarz THE BUTCHER Pinot Noir is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes and is matured in wooden fermentation vats. This wine has a maturation potential until 2025 and is sealed with a screw cap.
