Description
The company S. Spitz was founded in 1857 by Salomon Spitz in Linz, in 1935 the production site was moved from Linz to Attnang-Puchheim. The company changed its owner after the Second World War and constantly expanded its product range. The distribution of spirits and fruit juices is extended to the whole of Austria. In 2007, the company celebrated its 150th anniversary.
The departure of Spitz Schankrum in 2008 was also the birth of Spitz Doppelschankrum – the original times two. At 45 percent by volume, Spitz Doppelschankrum not only has double the alcohol content, but also double the aroma.
The term “Doppelschankrum” refers to a double-distilled rum, meaning that the rum undergoes two distillation processes to achieve a refined and smooth character. This process removes impurities and produces a more concentrated and flavorful spirit. “Inlaender Rum” is a term used for domestically produced rum in Austria. It distinguishes Austrian rums from imported rums from other countries.
