Description
The Exiles Irish Gin is made from 5 different Irish botanicals. Shamrock, red clover, honeysuckle, rowan berries and galeberry form the basis of the gin, with the shamrock being given the greatest importance. The shamrock has been a symbol of Ireland since the 18th century. On St. Patrick’s Day, it was customary to toast “drowning the shamrock”. In this ‘ritual of luck’, a shamrock is first pinned to a coat or jacket and only when the last toast is made is it added to the drink, taken out again and thrown over the left shoulder.
