Description
Togouchi is produced by Chugoku Jozo, a distillery in the city of Togouchi in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The distillery is located in a natural cave system that was originally built as a railroad tunnel, but was later converted into an ideal environment for maturing whisky. The cool, damp conditions in the tunnels provide an optimal climate for maturing whisky, resulting in a product that is rich in flavor and character.
Master Distiller Taihei Yamamoto distils the Togouchi Single Mal Japanese Whisky twice before maturing it in a select combination of bourbon and sherry casks. This careful maturation gives the whisky a complex taste structure and a harmonious aroma that underlines the quality and craftsmanship of the Togouchi distillery.
