Description
Amarone wines from the Classico zone tend to be the most elegant and aromatic. Bottlings from the extended Valpolicella region tend to be fuller bodied and more aromatic.
After a 4 months drying process of grapes, this soft and complex Amarone is aged in large oak casks and French oak barriques for at least 3 years, and it develops a full, round, intense and rich taste. Ripe dark-berry, underbrush and cooking-spice aromas lead the way. The concentrated, rich palate delivers raisin, star anise and tobacco alongside firm, refined tannins.
Tasting Notes:
Intense and dark ruby red. Bouquet is vinous, very rich of red berries and plums, chocolate and pepper. The taste is complex and rich, dry and soft. Full-bodied, elegant and vigorous wine. It has a marked, distinctive aroma with powerful fruit on the palate. Fine texture and long caressing finish.
Food Pairing:
This excellent red wine is a perfect pair with rich meat and game dishes and cheeses.
