92 Rating Wine Spectator
“A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (72%), Merlot (18%), and Syrah (10%) from selected
vineyards grown on old terraces with top-soil of limestone rich in minerals in the Judean Hills region
of Israel. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, this wine has enhanced dark fruit flavor and hints of
minerality and a fairly long finish. Tzora is amongst the very best artisnal producers in Israel.” -Kristen Bieler
Tzora Vineyards is nestled in the Judean Hills, where the terrain and climate create the perfect conditions for growing wine grapes. Steep, terraced slopes, cold winters, sharp temperature shifts at night, and rich, varied soils contribute to the wines’ unique character and longevity. Their wines, made from estate-grown grapes, capture the essence of the land: the ‘Judean Hills’ Red and Blanc, the ‘Shoresh’ Red and Blanc from ancient terraces, and the flagship ‘Misty Hills’ from a special plot with exceptional terroir. Winemaker Eran Pick, the first Israeli Master of Wine, and consultant Jean-Claude Berrouet of Chateau Petrus, collaborate to create wines that reflect the authentic story of the land. Kosher for Passover.
“Driving through Israel’s Judean Hills is a bit like driving through Tuscany or Napa. Vines line the hills on each side of the winding road, and wineries are set among the forested rolling landscape, spotted with wildflowers. Just 25 miles from the Mediterranean Sea, the Judean Hills has a more moderate Mediterranean climate than that of northern Israel, remaining green even in the heat of the summer. With a winemaking history that goes back 5,000 years, the Judean Hills is undergoing a revitalization.” –Wine Spectator
