Description
The house was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot. Since the creation of the Veuve Clicquot brand, the house has specialised in the production of champagne based on the Pinot Noir variety.
Only two years after the marriage of Francois Clicquot and Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, her husband died. Barbe-Nicole Clicquot then took over her late husband’s company in 1810.
In 1986, Veuve Clicquot merged with Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey.
Today Jacques Peters is the head winemaker of Veuve Clicquot.
The motto of the company was then as now ‘Only one quality – the finest’.
Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec is a tribute to the taste of the 19th century. The higher Chardonnay content strengthens sweetness and silkiness.
