The rock star of the Villa Cerna lineup… this is an every day wine for people that have been or want to go to Italy. Take 2 bottles… You’ll open it as you prepare dinner and need a second bottle by the time you’re seated.

Deep red with a garnet hue, the 2020 Chianti Classico Primocolle is ripe and sunny with pure aromas of wild red cherry and also has a lifted, more high-toned note as well, with cranberry preserve, fresh red flowers, and orange peel. Medium-bodied and elegant, it’s juicy, with ultra-fine tannins, an easygoing nature, good freshness, and a clean, stony finish. It’s a very charming wine to enjoy over the next few years.

Driven by earth, thyme, eucalyptus, orange peel and iron flavors, this wine’s cherry and plum fruit notes are buried deep — but they’re there. Shows a supple texture, with firm tannins and a leafy note on the finish. Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. Best from 2025 through 2037. 6,600 cases made, 2,000 cases imported.
