This is one of the better annual red blend deals out of Paso Robles. Aromas of clove, red fruit and baked blueberry lead from the nose into a spicy palate of nutmeg, roasted blackberry and an herbal finish awash in chaparral elements.

The nose is lifted and focused, with aromas of dark cherries, plums and spice. The palate is full-bodied with integrated tannins and acidity, giving notes of mulberries, barbecue meats and dried herbs. Made from a blend of 52% syrah, 30% petite sirah, 9% grenache and 9% tannat. Drink or hold.

The 2022 The Arborist is intense, opening with a savory mix of mocha and coffee grinds that gives way to pepper-tinged blackberries. Sleek and racy on the palate with excellent acid cut, this displays tart wild berry fruits and hints of spice. The 2022 leaves edgy tannins and a subtle bitter sensation to slowly fade.
