The 2022 Yellow Tail Shiraz is really good for $7. It’s got lots of Shiraz-y characters (blueberries, mulberries, raspberries, et al.) and a nice vinous flow in the mouth, making it a more convincing drink than the Merlot or Big Bold Red tasted beside it. There is still the presence of sweetness here, which I find both attractive and off-putting, but it is what it is. Successful for a reason, the wine is uncomplicated and like a hug. So, I get it.
