Description
The three traditional grape varieties from Penedès are harmoniously blended to create 1+1=3 Brut, endowed with the perfect balance between freshness, minerality and delicate aging notes. Clean aromas of fresh fruit (apple, peach) with hints of spring flowers. On the palate it is elegant and lingering, with fine pastry and mineral notes. Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with tapas, rice-based dishes and pasta with creamy sauces.

This winery does have a real name, “U Mes U Fan Tres,” but its distinctive labels appear with the moniker “1 + 1 = 3.” Some good values emerge from this estate, including the non-vintage Cava Brut, which exhibits an Italian Prosecco-like frothiness along with light-bodied, elegant, crisp, grapefruit and lemon zest characteristics. Made in a refreshing style meant for easy consumption, it should be enjoyed over the next six months.

The nose kicks up ginger ale and a touch of lime, and that’s followed by apple and mild citrus flavors. The mouthfeel is good and the finish crisp, clean and full of vibrant acidity. A perfectly fine and pleasant cava, but nothing out of the ordinary.
