Description
Honoring Napa Valley’s founders, history, and heritage. At the junction of Oakville Cross road and Highway 29 stands a landmark historical Victorian home and the iconic Oakville Grocery, founded in 1881, the oldest continuously operating grocery store in California. The general store served the visionary pioneers who first planted grapes in the valley and remains today a celebrated as 1881 Napa, the adjacent founder’s home today honors the rich legacy, history, and heritage of this world-famous wine region.
The 1881 Cabernet Sauvignon is JCB’s unforgettable, nowhere-but-Napa experience. Hailing from one of this century’s greatest vintages, drawn from JCB’s limitless sources in the mountain AVAs and on the Napa Valley floor, and made under the eye of 100-point consulting winemaker Philippe Melka and Raymond’s Stephanie Putnam, it was meant to be served and sold at JCB’s tasting room at Highway 29 and Oakville Cross—and nowhere else.
