Description
Akashi-Tai Honjozo Genshu Tokubetsu Japanese Sake is a premium sake from Japan that impresses with its exceptional quality, powerful character and handcrafted production. This sake comes from the traditional Akashi Sake Brewery, located in the port city of Akashi in Hyogo Prefecture – one of Japan’s most important sake regions. The name “Tokubetsu Honjozo Genshu” has a special meaning: “Tokubetsu” stands for “special” – and refers to a high-quality selection of ingredients or a special brewing method. “Honjozo” means that a small amount of alcohol has been added to refine the taste, while “Genshu” stands for a non-diluted sake that retains its full alcohol content of 19% vol.
It is produced according to traditional Japanese brewing methods. The rice used is polished to around 70% of its original size – this preserves both character and depth. Akashi-Tai Honjozo Genshu is a strong, aromatic sake that can be enjoyed both warm and slightly chilled. With its compact bottle size of 0.72 l and its full-bodied style, it is the perfect choice for sake lovers looking for an intense yet finely nuanced taste experience.
