Description
Unofficially, the Ardbeg distillery has been distilling since 1794 – in 1815, the distillery was purchased by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg.
“Ardbeg” comes from the Gaelic and translated means something like “small hill”.
The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region.
This whisky delights smoke-loving fans of Ardbeg. A distinctive intensity, as well as notes of fennel and celery mixed with wood smoke are guaranteed to stimulate discussion.
The maturation takes place for 8 years in ex-sherry casks.
