Description
Fruit aromas combined with light toasty notes on the nose. Both fleshy and refined, Clos de la Mousse reveals its charms with delicacy. Good ageing potential. Pair with white meat dishes, grilled poultry.

Tight and tannic with linear sensibility. Rich yet compact structure. Dark fruit with ripe strawberries and dark chocolate that carry on for minutes on the finish. Drink after 2022.

This is elegant, succulent and packed with cherry and black currant fruit, wrapped in spice and toasty oak accents. It hints at floral and mineral elements too, as the long aftertaste winds down on the finish. It’s solidly built and complex. Best from 2023 through 2036. 200 cases imported.

Strong notes of wood and menthol elements stop short of dominating the aromas of red and black raspberry aromas that display a floral nuance of violet. The sleek, intense and beautifully delineated medium weight flavors possess a refreshing salinity on the firm, intense and built-to-age finale.

The 2018 Beaune Clos de la Mousse 1er Cru comes from Bouchard’s 3-hectare, clayey monopole that apparently never suffers drought. It has a high-toned bouquet of blueberry and cassis aromas, forward and generous if not incredibly complex. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and quite voluminous in the mouth. The saline, hoisin-tinged finish just requires a little more delineation.

From a site defined by deep clay-rich soils that resist hydric stress, the 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de la Mousse reveals lovely aromas of cherries, blackberries and forest floor, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich and textural palate that’s ripe but succulent. This is a gourmand, pleasure-bent Beaune that will offer a broad drinking window.
