The Bayten Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of South Africa’s most respected producers and it offers up Sancerre-like flavors and nuance at less than $20 per bottle. Super crisp, lively and bone-dry, this herb and mineral accented white is one of the greatest Sauvignon Blanc values around. On the nose, it’s loaded with notes of green herbs, bell pepper, gooseberry, lime, chalk and flint. The palate is equally engaging with crisp and intense flavors of exotic citrus, green fig, guava, lime leaf and sugar snap pea. The wine has a pale lemon yellow color and a bouquet reminiscent of green figs with hints of gooseberries and hints of green peppers. The wine is dry, full bodied and has a long lingering finish.
