Description
Tour Bayard is relatively modern in style, with refined tannins, punchy fruit, and seductive aromas enhanced by malolactic fermentation in barrique.

Sporting a deep garnet-purple color, the 2019 Tour Bayard strides confidently out of the glass with reassuring, classic notes of warm plums, clove oil, baked blackberries and Morello cherries plus camphor and Indian spice nuances. The palate has an ambitious, sturdy frame of chewy tannins and loads of freshness supporting the muscular blue and black fruits, finishing on a lingering mineral note.

“Aromas of ripe plums, currants, chocolate orange, walnuts and nutmeg. Medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Crisp and structured with some pretty spice notes to close. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Drink from 2024.”
